Introduction to Linocut

This 3 hour evening course will give you a fantastic introduction to Linocut. Run in our studio space in the shop in Thurmaston, by Leicester artist and print maker, Mandeep Dhadialla. No experience necessary and all tools provided (including tea and coffee). Duration is 18:00 - 21:00
Discover the wonderful versatile technique of linocut printmaking. Linocuts are a type of relief print and give bold results. Come together for this fun taster workshop learning how to design and cut a small lino block and print it by hand. Working with soft Japanese Vinyl, we’ll begin by practicing mark-making techniques to help with confidence in handling cutting tools. We’ll then design a simple image inspired by visuals provided before being shown how to transfer, carve, ink up the block and handprint your image. Try this popular technique and make a collection of original prints to take home and the knowledge to continue your printmaking journey.
